John Holmes
Born and raised in Conway SC. A 1983 graduate of Conway High School, John attended HGTC while working with Santee Cooper, where he advanced from lead technician in substation maintenance and testing, to supervisor of the department. After 14 years of service with Santee Cooper, John surrendered to the call of God to preach the gospel. John spent five years traveling and sharing the gospel before taking the pastorate of Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Loris, SC, where he served from October 2003 to December 2012. He continues to preach and instruct leadership/discipleship training with churches in transition, and small groups.
In January of 2013 God allowed John’s passion for His glory to reveal his dreams through the birth of The BestShot Foundation, a charitable non-profit organization that is building a network of resources that help discover and develop individual’s talents and abilities while providing direction and accountability along the journey.
John is happily married to his wife of over 26 years, Cherlyn Sides from Greenville SC, and have two wonderful sons: Colby who was formally a student athlete of the University of South Carolina where he played baseball on back-to-back National Champions and is currently playing professionally in the Independent League; and Grant, a 1st Round Draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.
John’s ultimate calling in life is to serve others and enhance their lives for the greater purpose.

Mike serves as Chairman of the BestShot Foundation.
