The Right Spot

What if you could find the directions to your position of greatest desire, knowing that position is created perfectly for you, or to the greatest possible extent? What if someone could navigate you towards that position and help you create a vision and desire to change your direction and commit to a process that will develop progressive and interdependent steps by which your desired position can be attained? Would you be willing and willful to give it a shot? Most are willing but few are willful. The willing cheerfully say yes, I'm ready as long as......... Setting certain stipulations based upon what it may cost you or how uncomfortable it may get, is not the right spot. Willful is intentional and deliberate, no matter the cost or the sacrifice there is never a thought of given up or quitting. Willing has a desire to change and somewhat of a vision to change, but their reaction to the continuous process of change, it's to costly. Willful has a desire and vision to change, to be found in ones own position created just for them. Willful knows the cost of the continuous process of change and declares it a greater value than the value of staying in the wrong spot. Take a look at what the wrong spot looks like.
1. Never evaluate where you are and who you are based on perception - "I am not getting what I deserve, I have needs that are not being met."
2. Never evaluate where you are and who you are based on authority - "My ideas are being questioned, my power is being jeopardized."
3. Never evaluate where you are and who you are based on entitlement - "I have rights, don't ignore them, don't you know who I am."
Now take a look at the right spot.
1. Know your emotions and how they effect you. Know why you feel the way you do. Know how they affect your thoughts, actions, and speech. Know how they affect your performance and be aware of their values and goals.
2. Know your strengths and limits. Learn from experiences, be open to new ideas and self development. Know that frustration arises when you operate in your weakness.
3. Know your capabilities and value. Be confident you are where you are because of who you are. Take risk that are decisive and productive for the continuous process of change.
The wrong spot is often comfortable and self centered. The right spot is mostly uncomfortable and selfless. Its about here and now, you need to be where your feet are. Making our own decisions and having an internal motive to be in the right spot is very threatening to some, especially if we have let others make decisions for us in the past, based on perception, authority, and entitlement. Taking responsibility for where we are and who we are, for our hopes and dreams - and yes our own failures and heartaches - creates in us a tremendous freedom and strength to proceed to the right spot regardless of what it cost.

Think about it

Is it the problem or is it the preparation that eats at you the most? May seem like a crazy question, so I'll explain. One thing I've learned in my years of living is nothing just happens. I believe there is a purpose and reason for everything, but that doesn't mean I understand everything, because Gods thoughts and ways are way beyond me. Being transformed by the renewing of my mind creates a radical way of thinking. So radical it processes what most call a problem, as preparation for Gods purpose to be completed. Thinking radically ask the question of how might this situation most see as a problem help advance the gospel in my life and the life of others. Paul illustrates this for us in Philippians 1:12-18. Paul makes a general statement; what's happened to me happened to advance the gospel. The word "advance" is a military term emphasizing to strike forward. It was used to describe an army of tree cutters that would clear a path for the fighting army to travel through. Paul said he was in chains because of Christ, chained to a guard 24/7. Paul didn't think of these chains being a problem, Paul saw them as preparation to advance the gospel, and advance the gospel he did. Think about it, who or what do you feel you're chained to today? Think about it, not problems but preparations, it's not freedom you need it's forgiveness you should give. Stop complaining and start communicating. It's about compassion not comfort. Paul declared what matters most is that the gospel advance. Living to advance the gospel in every circumstance and situation life presents, is one happy and radical life. So happy and so radical that it's not about who or what you're chained to, the purpose is who or what has be chained to you! "But the others preach about Christ for selfish and wrong reasons, wanting to make trouble for me in prison. But it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that in every way, whether for right or wrong reasons, they are preaching about Christ. So I am happy, and I will continue to be happy." (Philippians 1:17, 18 NCV) Think about it. For all the athletes out there, what you thought was a problem is really preparation for your purpose to become reality, don't run from it!
