Runaway Schedule

4/16/2015

Hey, take a look at my schedule, there's not a day I can squeeze anything else in, how about that! Many boast about their filled in calendar, their runaway schedule. There's no room for error or no extra time for anything, it's like a gymnast on the balance beam, one wrong step or loss of balance and its a mess. Don't allow a full calendar, or an electronic device that reminds you of your packed schedule to create a sense of your importance. Having a runaway schedule is like eating bad food, it will make you sick or even kill you in some cases. The cost is beyond what you want to pay, and having a packed schedule won't make up the difference. Stop locking yourself down with a packed schedule of materialistic appointments. Remember who you are not just what you're doing, family and friends often get left off the schedule. You can make a change, if you don't your likely to crash. Some crashes are fatal, some paralyzing, and some that get your attention, but you have no say so in which one you experience.

Are you becoming the person you desire to be?

Old Fashion Communication

The way we communicated 15 years ago seems to have vanished in mid-air, literally. The day of the smart phone and Internet doesn't seem to be going any where except up and out. People overemphasize productivity, and measure their activity of success by the task completed. The term workaholic ring a bell? The lack of talking to people in person, seeing their eyes and reactions, begins to isolate from the real world, and real people. People who rely on smart phone communication or Internet social time, usually suffer lonliness, have trouble in close relationships if they have any, and have low energy physically and mentally. Motivation and boredom seem to be a constant battle, and they can't wait until the end of the work week. The old sayings; "Thank God It's Friday", and "Thank God It's Over For Another Week", are common sayings. Spending time with real people and talking about real life makes for a better and more enjoyable life. People think it's opposite, if you avoid people you avoid conflict and problems. Conflict builds strength to overcome problems, avoid conflict and get beat up with problems.

"When the eyes say one thing and the tongue another, a practiced man relies on the language of the first." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Take time to unpack some real communication with real people, you'll feel more alive than ever!

Time To Refresh

There is a vicious amount of pressure at every stage of life to succeed. It's very disturbing that statistics and personal preference/expectation seems to be the driving force of measuring success. When the pressure becomes to much and the expectations unrealistic, one may go to the some extreme actions to find relief. Can you imagine what kids and youth face every day? From parents, teachers, coaches, friends, and themselves. One thought we all need to pay close attention to. Cultivate an environment that values honest work and accepts the ups and downs and refuses to quit discovering who they really are. By focusing on the person you're becoming instead of the results you're producing through one event of life, you will relieve yourself of a lot of pressure or stress that's self inflicted. Unpack some of those questions you have, keep asking till something extraordinary happens. Seek the dream within and listen to the words it expresses. Let this attitude take over; Open your eyes and witness the dedicated work ethic and the all in commitment that's leading you towards your dreams and goals. Enjoy believing in your dreams, believing in yourself, and believing in each step and event it takes to make your dreams a reality. Take time to refresh, allow the active passion within to abundantly overflow and wash away the crud that our busy work pukes up.

Living for the performance - stresses

Living for the process - stimulates

What are you living for?

Quiet Time

One of the most powerful choices we have as a person, and one of the most powerful steps towards a stable and consistent life; the choice of quiet time each day. By scheduling your daily quiet time and sticking to it, it becomes even more powerful. Another benefit from daily quiet time is the accountability to excersise self-control to assure nothing disrupts your scheduled quiet time. The challenge to build up to a daily quiet time of 20-30 minutes will make you more productive, less moody, less defensive, more positive, more understanding, less anexiety, less selfish, and more alive. The choice not to have daily quiet time is a choice to overload your mind and life. It's like standing in the middle of Time Square on the busiest day of the year and time sticks, but you still have to go on with life and all the decisions it brings. Realize the need to schedule a daily quiet time, to sit quietly and unpack the busy clutter and just relax, close your eyes, and hear yourself breath. Commit and within several weeks you'll be a different person.

"All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone." Pascal

Thought Provoking

At the center of change is a challenge of growth for the future. Trying to avoid or prevent change puts a heavy load of thoughts in your mind. What if you simplified the growth process? What if you found your purpose, that which you love doing and you're really good at it when you're doing it? What if you kept fueling and feeding that purpose and building up the vessel which possesses that purpose as it builds up others because of its purpose? When you create an assurance of balance and direction between what is and what could be, you develop ownership in the lives of the people you're leading. That's a huge change from the norm, and from what's going on in most lives today. Provoke your thoughts, they may lead you to great change, steady growth, and an amazing freedom to fulfill your purpose. You're the only you, don't leave yourself to die because you're chasing someone else's change and purpose.

"A" Grade Life

Trying to avoid the risk of being your best and settling for the obvious good giving, gives you and average to above average life at best. But is this what you really want, you were created for an excellent life. The world constantly offers you an above average life if you'll avoid the exam for the excellent life. Life seems difficult at times, the preparation and work to make life worth while is often challenging and requires the learning of life lessons. Many will feel a relief when offered the "B" grade life, because they can avoid the study time and life lessons it takes for the "A" grade life. Don't settle for less than you're capable of, have confidence in what you've learned so you can proceed with life's exam and be more than average to above average. Those who believe in what they've learned and what they're doing, count life lessons of failure and success, the exam they've prepared for. These are the people you surround yourself with, those who want to take the exam for an excellent life, an "A" grade not "B" grade. Studies show that by the age of two, 50 percent of what we ever believe about ourselves has been formed; by age six, 60 percent, and at eight years, 80 percent. The child like trust and optimism of life, says theres is nothing you cant do or learn. Surround yourself with positive people - they know the importance of confidence and will help you keep focused on what you can do instead of what you can't. The people you surround yourself with is who you become.

Unpack the "B" grade mind set, never stop believing in yourself. Crave the exam, don't cringe over it.

Take A Risk

One sure way to get out of the rut of life, take a heart felt risk. Nothing stupid, hopefully that's understood. But when's the last time you broke away from the mundane routine, nothing will change unless you do. If the mundane routine is weighing you down, can't figure out what's next, take a heart felt risk. What's something you've always wanted to do, someplace you've always wanted to visit. Time isn't slowing down and none of us are getting any younger. The obstacles perceived are often to big or to heavy, maybe it takes to much energy or requires crawling out from under the self pity cloud that we keep following around, it's not following you! It's when we put forth a daring effort and take the heart felt risk, we find underneath the heavy obstacle the reward or joy we've been longing for. Steve Jobs once approached the then president of Pepsi. Steve saw a tremendous leader and offered him a job, the president of Pepsi couldn't understand why he would leave his prestigious job. Maybe it was to much of a risk, after all, being president of Pepsii is very good. Steve Jobs statement to the president of Pepsi goes something like this, do you want to keep selling sugar water or do you want to do something that will change the world. John Sculley became CEO of Apple in 1983.

Don't cut yourself short, cut yourself loose, and do something that will change the world by taking a heart felt risk.

Managing Life

What is the first step in gaining victory over anxiety? Not eliminating it, but conquering its effects of misery. It is to limit worry, to recognize and put up barriers. This simple act will eliminate 92% of fears. To look at it with common eyes, limiting the effects of worry may leave one free from worry 92% of the time. We should tell ourselves to stop trying to figure out our own difficulties. Our first impulse is to try to account for them, figure out why it's happened, and what happened. Sometimes such an effort is beneficial: more often it is distinctly harmful. It leads to introspection, self-pity, and vain regret; and almost invariably it creates within us a dangerous mood of confusion and despair. Many of life’s hard situations cannot be explained. They can only be endured, mastered, and gradually forgotten to the best of our ability. Once we learn this truth, once we resolve to use all our energies managing life rather than trying to explain life, we take the first and greatest step toward significant accomplishments in limiting the effects of anxiety.

Is it all about the wins and losses, or is it about you manage life?

Nothing Personal

Being so focused on the results, prevents you from developing to your highest potential. Listening to others over your heart, will place pressure on the way you live and perform. Whether the results are good or bad, it's not the top of the mountain or the end of the world. Being able to place less significance on results, lowers the pressure you place on yourself. The less pressure you place on yourself, the more focus you place on the process, and the greater the purpose you'll find in the present. Let go of trying to produce results, and start trusting the process of letting the results happen. Unpack the over analyzing thoughts of results. Avoid packing in to much "my" performance information, allow yourself to be flexible with situations that seem to have high demands. You possess the power to unpack useless thoughts, take control of the process, don't let pressure push you away from your dreams. Let the pressure of the process push you closer to the purpose of your dreams. Take nothing personal attitude allows you to believe in the process, set goals and let the process make you the best you can be.

There's never a time in life when you can't get better.

Where's your focus today, process or performance?
